Duties

(a)  Designation of gemstone blocks at the gemstone tract area.

(b)  Issue the permit for producing of gemstone to the national entrepreneurs and cooperative societies.

(c)  Impose the tax under the gemstone law for gemstone production or for sale of raw gemstone, finished gemstone or jewellery.

(d)  Hold the gems emporium under the supervision of Ministry of Mines.
